The events of life cannot be changed, but perceptions can be altered and meanings can be reframed. An intuitively informed approach to treating trauma takes into account the innate, human potential for accessing adaptive resources that have been dissociated from awareness by traumas occurring both in childhood as well as in adulthood.

With their preferred clinical skills and wise intuitive guidance, therapists can assist clients in accessing and utilizing the insights inherent in the non-conscious processes of the intuitive mind. In this way, cognitive, emotional, and sensory resources of the inner mind can transform fear, victimization, and functional stagnation into states of resilience and adaptive functioning.
